Multiplying multiples of 10

1. Multiply the non-zero part of the numbers.
2. Count the zeros in each factor.
3. Add the same number of zeros to the product.

Let's try it with 50×600.

Multiply the non-zero part of the numbers.

5×6=30

Count the zeros in each factor.

50×600

50 has 1 zero.

600 has 2 zeros.

There are 1+2=3 zeros in the factors.

Take the product of the non-zero parts and add that number of zeros to the end
5×6=30

50×600=30,000

So, 50×600=30,000!
