Today we are going to learn a really important classroom skill—preparing to independently complete a task.

.o Success Criteria: We know we’re successful when we can identify the task, decide on a goal to accomplish within the work time, gather needed materials, decide on a place to work (optional), and get started.

Tell the students that a teacher has asked the group to write a research paper about their favorite career. Get a piece of paper and start writing all of the things you can think of about being a teacher. Tell the group to shout out ideas. Ask the group if this is a “good enough” paper.
