• Leaching of N & P in soil (water infiltration)

• N & P carried by runoff

• algae overgrowth due to excess N & P in water

• algae blocks sunlight -> sunlight cannot reach plants)

Reorder the following -- from step 5 to 8

• algae blocks sunlight -> sunlight cannot reach plants)

• Plants cannot do photosynthesis --> plants die -> decomposition

• Algae eventually die too --> decomposition

• Dead plants (no photosynthesis) + decomposition = no O₂ (anoxia) --> animals die
