• gerund (-ing form) comes eg. after these verbs:

  AVOID, IMAGINE, FANCY, DENY, CAN´T STAND, MISS, MIND...

• infinitive with TO comes eg. after these verbs:

  EXPECT, PRETEND, TEND, REFUSE, HESITATE, AFFORD...

• infinitive without TO comes eg. after these verbs:

  LET, MAKE, HAD BETTER, WOULD RATHER, SHOULD, MIGHT...
