Both canals were incredibly hard to build, according to the video what were the challenges faced? What were the consequences?

• Political maneuvering is evident in both histories. The Suez Canal was initially resisted by the Ottoman Empire but eventually got approval. The Panama Canal involved a coup in Panama supported by the U.S. to gain control and initiate construction. Both Canals have caused thousands of deaths to build. However Global trade has been increased and shipping times have decreased making valuable goods cheaper for many around the world.
