Prepositional Case

media

Using prepositional case to add detail about specific location.

2

media

We primarily use prepositional case to talk about the location of someone or something.
We use prepositional case after the prepositions:
"В" to say "in" or "at"
"На" to say "on" or "at"
"О" to say "about something or someone"

For example: Я в банке

Specific Location

Phrases like "in the bank" that we just made, aren't actually necessary to make a complete sentence.
We use prepositional phrases to add detail. We add more info.
For example...
Я живу там в доме.
we could remove the prepositional phrase (in the house) and it really doesn't change the meaning or destroy the structure. It is simple extra detail to make the idea more specific.

Drag and Drop

Sometimes we have issues with spelling rules, such as with the word "Россия."
When you have a word that ends in "ИЯ or ИЕ," we can't change it to "Е" (РоссиЕ) so instead we add the ending
For example, the word "Dormitory" : Общежитие --> в общежитии

Drag these tiles and drop them in the correct blank above
"И"
"О"
"Е"
"У"
"Ё"

7

Drag and Drop

We also have issues with spelling rules when we have a soft sign at the end, like in the word, "Тетрадь"
We can't change the "ь" to "Е" (тетрадЕ) so instead we use the special/spelling rule ending
Drag these tiles and drop them in the correct blank above
"О"
"Е"
"У"
"Ё"
"И"
