Door decorations are very popular. The center one is called 福。
It is often hung upside-down on doors. Why? There is a legend that a farmer once hung his fu with only one nail. One night, it flipped over and he didn't notice. When his guests arrived, they all said, 你福是倒了 (your luck is upside-down.)。
This sounded like 你福是到了 (your luck has arrived.)。And so the tradition began.

​Grab some red paper if you have it.
Make it square.
Hold it like a diamond.
Make the 福.
