​The gerund is used to express ongoing or continuous actions, similar to the -ing form in English.

English examples:

Playing
Jumping

​Conjugating -AR Verbs

​For verbs ending in -ar, the gerund is formed by replacing -ar with -ando.
Examples:

Bailar: Bailando

Trabajar: Trabajando

Dar: Dando

​Conjugating -ER and IR Verbs

​For verbs ending in -ir and -er, the gerund is formed by replacing ending with -iendo.
Examples:

Hacer: Haciendo

Beber: Bebiendo
