How to find an equivalent fraction:

1. Start with a Fraction: Let's say you have a fraction, like 1/2. This means you have 1 piece out of 2 equal parts of something, like a pizza.

2. Choose a Number to Multiply: Think of a number that you want to multiply both the top number (numerator) and the bottom number (denominator) of the fraction by. Let's choose the number 2 for our example.

3. Multiply the Top and Bottom: Now, multiply both the numerator (1) and the denominator (2) by the number you chose (2). So, 1 multiplied by 2 is 2, and 2 multiplied by 2 is 4. This gives you a new fraction: 2/4.

4. Understand the Equivalent Fraction: The new fraction you got, 2/4, is an equivalent fraction to 1/2. It means the same amount, just like if you cut a pizza into 4 pieces instead of 2, taking 2 pieces is the same as having half the pizza.
