What is this test for?

​The IGCSE Listening test forms one of three kinds of assessment used to determine how well you perform in English.
The test is designed to see how much you understand by getting you to listen to a speaker and then answer questions.

You have 50 minutes to complete the test.

This paper consists of five exercises and a total of 40 questions.

All questions are multiple-choice, and you answer each by selecting the correct option.

Each exercise tests comprehension of recorded texts (e.g., monologues, interviews or conversations).


Candidates hear each recorded text twice. At the end of the test, candidates will be asked to transfer their answers onto a separate answer sheet, and they have six minutes to do this.
