Kun tulkki kääntää puheen samassa hetkessä, hän käyttää samoja aikamuotoja kuin puhujakin, eli vain kääntää puheen toiselle kielelle. Persoonamuotoihin voi tarvita muutoksia, koska puhuja vaihtuu.
