New Ways to see the World

media

During the Middle Ages, most people in Europe were devoted to Christianity. The same was true during the Renaissance. However, Renaissance people were interested in ideas and in the positive qualities that make us human. This new emphasis on human value and achievement was called humanism, or a new way of thinking and learning. There was a revived interest in history, ancient Greek and Roman writings, and the humanities. Artists and architects were inspired by these writings, Roman ruins and classical statues.
