Culture, Religion, and Language

Culture-

Korean culture is a combination of tradition and modernity, and includes

music, art, literature, dance, architecture, clothing, and cuisine. It is also
influenced by Confucian principles and Buddhism.

Bowing is a very big thing. It shows respect, especially toward elders.

Religion-

45 percent are Protestant, 35 percent Buddhist, 18 percent Roman

Catholic, and 2 percent “other” (including Won Buddhism, Confucianism,
Jeongsando, Cheondogyo, Daejonggyo, etc.

Language-

South Korea has one official language: Korean, although Japanese, English

and Mandarin are widely spoken and understood.
