The First Stage
Egg
A frogs life begins as a fertilized egg. It is covered by a protective jelly like layer. A female frog lays about a thousand eggs at once by a body of water. The frog eggs hatch after 6-21 days after being laid.
7
Tadpoles use gills to breath in the water. They also have no legs in the beginning and move like a fish. Tadpoles like to eat algae and plants. After 6-9 weeks they begin to grow two hind legs, this allows them to jump. During this time they also start to develop lungs.

The Third Stage
Froglet
In this stage the froglet has fully developed lungs and the 2 front legs have grown. The tail also begins to get smaller. During this stage they are able to go on land and start to eat insects. This means they are almost adult frogs.
10
This is the last stage of the cycle, the frog now have 2 front legs and fully developed lungs. They also no longer have a tail. They are able to eat large bugs and insects. If it is a female frog it will return to the water and lay more eggs. The cycle then starts again!
