As the New Deal came into play, unemployment rates went down but did not end the Great Depression

The unions and strikes called for lower unemployment rates and job opportunities

National Labor Relations Act
Employees granted the right to unionize and strike
By a 30% vote, workers can vote to unionize and select their exclusive union
Employees could not legally stop a strike, hire replacements, or refuse to let workers back in

The Wagner Act of 1935

What are they?
Proposed that government spending was the solution to the crashing market

​Deficit spending- is meant to stimulate the economy which puts money back into the economy

Keynesian Economics

For every justice that turns 70 and doesn't retire gets to stay on the bench

This allows any president to appoint an additional justice(up to 6 times)

Creates a system of free public welfare that is highly controversial

Criteria

A system made to pack the court with people who have the same ideals as the president (at the expense of checks and balances)
