What is conflict?
We already know...
Conflict refers to the problem or situation that characters have to deal with in fiction stories.
The type of conflict depends on what's happening in the story and can affect the setting, characters, plot, and themes.

An internal conflict is a problem a character has inside their mind, such as a tough decision. The problems can also relate to growing up or maturing.
An internal conflict is also known as character vs. self
Internal Conflict
An external conflict is a problem or situation that comes to a character from an external source, like another person.
There are so many options for an external problem, it is broken down into sub-types.

This type of conflict occurs when a character fights against a rule or authority in their society.
This is usually a character going against a group or government.
Examples: Rebellions, protests,

In a character vs supernatural conflict, a character has to go against a force with mythical or magical powers. The conflicting force must have powers that the character does not. The power imbalance is the root of the conflict.
Examples: Haunted houses, vampires
