Project Time
Create a news show reporting on events that happened in the school, class, or an imaginary world. You must use reported speech.
It could be an interview or report poster with a stormtrooper or a wizard from Harry Potter, or it can be something more realistic.
Decide what happened, then write the News interview.
EXAMPLE
Reporter:
Sir, we heard you spoke to the alien. What did it say?
Man:
It said it came in peace.
Reporter:
Really? What else did it say?
Man:
It said it didn’t want to hurt anyone.
And it said it was looking for pizza!
Reporter:
Pizza?
Man:
Yes! It said it saw a pizza on TV and wanted to try it.
Oh, and it said cats are very interesting creatures.
Reporter:
Did it say why it came to Earth?
Man:
It said its ship crashed and it needed help.
Then it said our planet was beautiful, but noisy.
Reporter:
Thank you. That was amazing!
