Calculating Steps - Speed

  • Determine what you're solving for.

  • Then, write the correct equation to help you solve

    • Speed: Speed = Distance / Time; S = D / T

    • Distance: Distance = Speed x Time; D = S x T

    • Time: Time = Distance / Speed; T = D / S

  • Plug in what you know

  • Solve for the missing variable

  • use correct units

7

Solve

  • First write formula S = D / T

  • Plug in 50 for distance

  • Plug in 25 for time

  • 50 / 25 = 2

  • 2 m/s
