Beschreiben Verben der Sinneswahrnehmungen (feel, look, sound, taste, smell), so folgt ihnen ein Adjektiv, z. B. He looked nervous.
Beschreiben sie eine Tätigkeit, so muss ihnen ein Adverb folgen, z. B. He looked at me nervously.

Partizipien als Adjektive
Auch Partizipien werden als Adjektive verwendet.
Das present participle (infinitive + -ing) z. B. exciting, disappointing hat aktive Bedeutung und wird verwendet, um etwas oder jemanden zu beschreiben.
Das past participle (regular: -ed, irregular: 3rd form) z. B. thrilled, excited hat als Adjektiv passive Bedeutung und wird verwendet, um ein Ergebnis auszudrücken.
