​We use geoboards to create shapes. Today, we will use rubber bands to make different kinds of shapes on our geoboards. Then we will identify the shapes we have made.

​Example:

​Use a rubber band to create a shape with four sides on your geoboard. Each side should be three pegs long.

​This is how your shape should look.

​What shape do you have?
Let's think about what we can tell from the geoboard:
- the shape has four sides (quadrilateral)
- each side is the same length (square or rhombus)
- the shape is not tilted
(square)

​That's right - we've made a square!

Let's try another shape:

​Use a rubber band to create a shape that has three angles and three sides.

​What shape do we have here?

​The shape that has three sides and three angles is a ________.

​Triangle!
