Hi Friends.
As you have noticed, I am not here. I wish I was. I wanted to finish playing the ZERO game and just generally tell you guys how awesome you are before we start testing on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, my kids had other plans and came home sick Friday afternoon. I'll be back on Tuesday, and I'll see you in the library with a little treat. Yes, I will visit those of you in Ms. Nesom's room as well.

Multiple Choice
Why is Ms. Lemoine Absent today?
She does not care about her students.
She is very tired and needed a nap.
Her kids are germ factories who have been inconveniently sick all weekend.
She moved to Dubai.
3
Today, I want to give a few quick reminders and then let you work on your IReady or AR.
I know you only have so much to give each day, so we need to work on keeping your bucket full over the next 2 weeks.
4
Multiple Choice
When Ms. Lemoine emphasizes the importance of keeping your bucket full over the next 2 weeks, she means.
Conserve your emotional and physical energy.
Stay up all night trying to beat Layne, David, and Koby Fortnite.
Get into a huge fight with your mom on the way school every day to ensure that you are totally stressed out.
Do not eat breakfast so you are starving and cannot focus during the test.
5
Draw
Use this image of a bucket to draw the current state of your metaphorical bucket. How full is it today?
6
Tomorrow you will arrive at school, eat breakfast in the cafeteria, and immediately report to your testing location.
No patio dillydallying.
No reporting to 1st hour.
7
Multiple Choice
Predict the reasoning behind the LEAP morning protocol.
Students want to be with their friends, so they might be more likely to eat breakfast.
We need to start right away to stay on schedule, so we won't waste time going to 1st hour.
Some students won't know their testing locations, and we need to help them get there ASAP.
All of these answers contribute to the reasoning,
8
Check out the schedule for the next two weeks and notice how the afternoons look different.
9
Multiple Choice
Predict why we go back to 5th block every day even though the other afternoon classes are scrambled.
5 is Mr. Wax's favorite number.
Your 5th hour teacher is the worst teacher you have.
Your 5th hour teacher is the best teacher you have.
5th Block is lunch dismissal class.

LEAP stands for

Education

... which honestly is pretty lame sounding.

What do you think LEAP should stand for?

Hey, by the way, do you have a library book ready for tomorrow?
You may read it in between test sessions.
Also, you still need to be earning those 10 AR points, so...

What's the title of your AR Book? If you don't have one...go get one!
If you're acting shady and the sub won't let you go to the library, you can write that explanation here.

Okay, real quick, before I end this sad attempt at pumping you up for tomorrow, I leave you with 3 reminders.
Take most, if not all, of the time. Even if you answer everything and take a break before submitting. Take. Your. Time.
Don't even think about meanmugging anyone who is still testing after you finish.
15
Read questions and prompts completely so you don't fall for any of their malevolent tricks!
Ex: Make sure it asked for which word means the same, not which word does NOT mean the same.
Ex: If it says choose all that apply, make sure you do just that!
Ex: If it asks for 3 pieces of evidence, make sure you include at least 3.
16
The LEAP test did not have the pleasure of getting to know you and all of your weird and wacky ways.
The LEAP test did not meet you fresh out of 7th grade and see the terrified look on your face when Ms. Lemoine started asking you all kinds of random questions about things you had never thought about before.
The LEAP test did not get to see you grow as a reader, writer, and thinker this year. And for that reason, your LEAP score can really only say so much.
Do your best and make me proud. That's it!
