Do liquids conduct electricity?
2
Objective
Understand the principles of electrical conductivity through practical experiments involving the heating effect, magnetic effect, and the conductivity of different substances such as liquids, culminating in a comprehensive understanding of electricity.

Electric circuit
A circuit is a closed path that allows electricity to flow from one point to another. Think of it like a race track for electric current. Here are the basic parts of a simple circuit:
Power Source: This is where the electricity comes from, like a battery.
Wires: These are the paths that carry the electric current from one place to another.
Load: This is any device that uses the electricity, like a light bulb.
Switch: This controls the flow of electricity, turning it on or off.
When the switch is closed, the circuit is complete, and electricity flows from the power source, through the wires, to the load, and back to the power source. This flow of electricity makes the load work, like lighting up a bulb.

Multiple Choice
If the current through a circuit is too weak and the filament does not get heated, will the bulb glow?
Yes
No
10
Labelling
When electric current flows through a wire, it creates a magnetic effect that can deflect a nearby compass needle, even with a small amount of current. This can be used to detect weak currents. Add the label to the correct position in the diagram.

Multiple Select
Which of the following conducts electricity? Mark all the right answers.
Distilled water
Distilled water after adding salt
Tap water
12
Fun fact
Pure water doesn't conduct electricity well. It's the impurities, like salts and minerals, that make water a good conductor by providing charged particles that carry electrical current.
