Q:What are some problems with Houstons Water?
Clean and safe drinking water helps prevent sickness, birth defects and even death. The Houston area had a total of 1,595 drinking water issues in 2020, from sources like lakes and rivers. When a water source becomes polluted, it is considered to be "impaired." In areas like Houston where there are a lot of people, the most common pollutants of water come from petroleum storage tank facilities.
What does this mean for Houston’s water quality? Overall, 67% of the water streams in the area are currently "impaired" because of bacteria, making their water unsafe. People swimming, fishing or boating in the water can become ill if they ingest the water. Some of the most common reasons bacteria is in the water is wastewater treatment plants that stop working, sewers overflowing, and other failing systems. Severe storms and flooding can also add to making water unsafe. Toxic chemical waste released by industrial facilities also greatly affects Houston’s water quality.

Write what causes most air and water pollution in Houston.
Nothing is more important to life than air and water.
Houston has made an effort to clean its air. However, air pollution levels caused by growing industries, heavy traffic, and a cars remain a problem for Houston.
Additionally, the Houston area has a lot of water, including a lot of major rivers and streams. However, they take on pollution from industry waste, cars and trucks, wastewater, trash, and polluted stormwater runoff. Contaminated air and water are serious health risks for people who live in Houston. Bad air and water have been found to lead to health conditions like cancer or even death.

Q:What are some potential solutions to reduce air pollution
caused by motor vehicles and industrial activities?
Read this:
Ozone and particle pollution contribute to poor air quality. Though they are getting better, high ozone levels still harm health in Houston. Ozone can cause breathing problems, including asthma, and even death. Chemicals that cause ozone are made primarily from cars and industry.
Particle pollution refers to small solid and liquid particles found in the air. These particles are released into the air by industry, fires, dust, or formed from car exhaust. While these particles are too tiny to see, even with a microscope, when millions are present, they can cause haze or smog. Does Houston have good air quality? The most recent report by the American Lung Association gave an “F” to the ozone levels in Houston.
