people this is good
because Dharavi is so
densely populated.

- The accommodation is

built very close together
this is worse than the

create dark and dingy
spaces.

Demonstrate

I believe that Dharavi should not be replaced with high rise flats.
I believe this because Dhavravis has been built over 70 years.
Many of the houses in Dharavi have been purpose built, meaning
that they have lots of space for the families that have built them
and also gives them space for the businesses that they run. The
new high rise flats are much smaller so families will be cramped
or separated. This will mean that their situation will be made
worse rather than better.
Another reason why I disagree with the idea that Dharavi should
be replaced by high rise flats is .

Word Bank: Communal space, sanitation, community, businesses, improve
conditions.

Should the scheme to replace Dharavi with high rise flats like
other slum redevelopments in Mumbai go ahead?
