THIS IS THE TAXONOMY
OF A DOG
WHO IS GIVEN CREDIT FOR THE
SYSTEM OF TAXONOMY OF
LIVING THINGS?
LET'S FIND OUT…..
2
Carl Linnaeus (23 May 1707 – 10 January 1778) was a
Swedishbotanist, physician and zoologist who created the
binomial nomenclature. In this system, every kind of animal
and plant is given a name consisting of two Latin words, for
its genus and species. This became used by biologists all
over the world, so he is known as the "father of modern
taxonomy".
DOMAINS ARE THE HIGHEST (FIRST) LEVEL OF THE TAXONOMY OF LIVING THINGS.
THERE ARE 3 DOMAINS. DOMAINS ARE THE BROADEST LEVEL OF CLASSIFICATION.
KINGDOMS ARE THE 2ND HIGHEST TAXONOMIC LEVEL OF THE TAXONOMY OF LIVING
THINGS. THERE ARE 6 KINGDOMS.
THIS YEAR, WE WILL ONLY BE FOCUSING ON THE FIRST 2 LEVELS.
