Let us learn how to solve a fraction

4

Step one[1]

  • Step 1: Check whether the given fractions are like or unlike fractions.A like fraction is a fraction that the group of two or more fractions that have exactly the same denominator.

  • A unlike fraction is a fraction that Fractions with different denominators are called the unlike fractions. Here the denominators of fractions have different values. For example, 2/3, 4/9, 6/67, 9/89 are unlike fractions. Unlike Fractions. Since the denominators here are different, therefore it is not easy to add or subtract such fractions.

8

Step [2]

  • Step 2: If the denominator is the same, find the sum of the numerators and place the sum over the common denominator.

9

Step [3]

Step 3: If the denominators are different, the fractions are unlike fractions. We will have to convert them into like fractions by making the denominators the same. We will learn different methods to do so later in the article.

10

Step 4:

when we make the unlike fractions to like fractions we will have to multiply the denominator to make them the same in most cases we have to multiply the denominator by 2.

Explanation:For the first sum

This is how we got 5/6 first we had to make the denominator meaning we said 2 multiply by 3 then we got our answer which is 6 .We went again and did the same thing so we said 3 multiply by 2 which also gives us 6 .Remember what we do at the top we also do at the bottom.
