Be careful of Object of Preposition

What is an object of preposition?

E.g.: The key on the table is car key

2. S-V Agreement

Subject-Verb Agreement is actually simple:
if the subject of a sentence is ____, the
verb must be ____; if the subject of a
sentence is ____, the verb must be ____
as well.

Objects of prepositions

Example
With his friend ______ found the movie
theater.
(A) has
(B) he
(C) later
(D) when

We should notice that ‘With his
friend’ is not a subject. ‘His friend’ is
an object of the preposition ‘With’.
The sentence lacks a subject.
Therefore, answer (B) is the correct
answer

Be careful of Appositive

What is an apositive?

Example:
Sally, the best student in the class, got an A
on the exam.

Verb Forms

There are three most common problematic situations with verbs:
1. check what comes after have.
2. check what comes after be. BE + (1) _____
