Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to write a letter to a friend describing an interesting object they found, using appropriate conventions of letter writing.

Essay Question

What to write?

• Greeting (e.g., "Dear Friend,")

• Introduction (what the letter is about)

• Body (2-3 paragraphs)

• Conclusion (wrapping up)

• Closing (e.g., "Your friend, [Name]")

Paragraph 2 - Describe the Object

• What did you find?

• What does it look like? (color, size, shape)

• Use your senses (sight, touch, smell) to describe it.

Paragraph 3 - Where and How You Found It

• Where did you find it? (park, beach, market, etc.)

• How did you find it? (digging, walking, looking closely, etc.)

Paragraph 4 - Why Is It Interesting?

• Explain what they find special or fascinating about the object.

• Why do you like it? How did it make you feel?
