Emerging technologies are the advances in new technologies that are currently developing or will be developed over the next five to ten years, which will substantially alter the business and social environment.

•Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. Examples of AI applications include expert systems, natural language processing (NLP), speech recognition and machine vision. ("guide to artificial intelligence in the enterprise," n.d.) 

•Pros: Tailored education experiences

•Cons: Biased algorithms, inappropriate content risks

​5G Technology – Fifth generation of Mobile Network

•5G refers to the fifth generation of mobile network technology. It is designed to significantly improve upon previous generations of mobile networks (such as 4G LTE) in terms of speed, capacity, latency, and connectivity. It is vital to the forward movement of education as it is Faster and more reliable online learning experience ("Co-creating innovative solutions to education challenges," 2023

•Pros: Faster data speeds, improved connectivity
•Cons: Limited availability, health concerns 

What is Quantum Computing?

•Quantum computing uses the principles of quantum mechanics to process information more efficiently than classical computers. Potential applications include cryptography, material science, and complex system modeling. (Nielsen, & Chuang, 2010).

•Pros: Fast computations

•Cons: Still in infancy, expensive
