Brainstorm at least 15 adjectives and factoids that describe our school.

Consider changes impacting your school this year.
Identify what makes our school unique.

From the list of adjectives and factoids from step one, brainstorm phrases that creatively convey the key message.

Consider alliteration, assonance, oxymoron, antonym, cliché, homonym, onomatopoeia, pun, rhyme and synonym.

From the suitable theme slogans listed in step two, work together to select the phrase that best represents the tone for the theme, the story, of the year.

Using the Theme to Tie It All Together

Step 1:

Look at yearbooks and find out what sections appear.
(for example: Sports)

We'll come together and create a list of sections/special pages we want to have in our yearbook.

Make new phrases for each section by using important words or ideas from the main theme.

Step 3: 2 options

  1. ​go with a teacher to find people and things to take photos of.

  2. save your photos to the correct google photos file-folder - teacher will assist

  1. create a piece of art to include in the yearbook - sketch in your sketchbook, paint, or use modeling clay

  2. clean up after yourself.
