We are learning how to solve linear equations and

inequalities to solve mathematical and real-world problems.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

I can solve linear equations with variables on both sides.

• I can simplify an expression using the distributive

property.

• I can solve an equation with fraction and decimal

coefficients.

In middle school, you learned that multiplying a variable by a unit fraction is the same dividing the variable by the denominator.

For example, 1/3x is the same as x/3. 

Likewise, -2/3x is the same as -2x /3.
