Religious cult

The Igbo pre-colonial system was made up of different religious cults. They believed in the spirits of their ancestors and worshipped them in different forms. They acted as Oracles and the mouthpiece of the gods of the land. Igbo system made use of the 'Dibia' as a persons of spiritual powers and abilities who was sought for in times of difficulties. He also performed sacrifices to bring peace to the land.
