Solving Systems by Elimanation Method

4

The elimination method is a way to solve systems of equations by eliminating one variable at a time.

Laws to solving systems of equations with the elimination method!!!
1. Write both equations in standard form (Ax+By=C).
2. Make the coefficients of one variable opposites.
3. Add or subtract the equations to eliminate the variable with the

opposite coefficients.
4. Solve for the remaining variable.
5. Substitute the solution into one of the original equations to solve for the eliminated variable.

5

Example of Elimination Method: (We Do)

2x - 3y = 12

3x - 4y + 10 = 0
