non- mendelian inheritance
incomplete dominance
co-dominance
Polygenic inheritance

2
Incomplete dominance
Happens when one allele is not completely dominant to the other.
In this case the resulted phenotype is a blend between the two traits.
Ex) A baby with a wavy hair can be born for a couple that one of them with straight hair and the other with a curly hair.
3
Codominance
When both alleles are simultaneously expressed in the heterozygote.
Ex) when red buffalo is crossed with a white one their offspring will demonstrate both colors.
4
Multiple alleles
A gene that is controlled by more than two alleles.
Ex) ABO blood type. Blood type is controlled by three alleles. Each individual will have just two alleles of the three.
5
ABO blood group is an example of multiple alleles, complete dominance, and co-dominance inheritance.
6
Multiple Choice
Mama Isabella has a blood type of O. Her son, Norman, has also a blood type of O. What is the blood type of Norman's father?
A
B
AB
O
7
Multiple Choice
If the image were real, it would represent what type of inheritance pattern?
Incomplete Dominance
Codominance
Multiple Alleles
Polygenic Inheritance
8
Multiple Choice
The two cows on the top are the parents and the cow on the bottom is the offspring. What is the type of inheritance pattern is being exhibited?
Incomplete Dominance

10
Multiple Choice
In humans, the gene for curly hair (H) is incompletely dominant to the gene for straight hair (h). Individuals that are heterozygous (Hh) have wavy hair.
Two wavy-haired heterozygous parents have a child.
What is the likeliness that the child will have wavy hair?

Multiple Alleles: Blood types
Non-mendelian inheritance
more than two alleles are available for a trait
Human blood types are an example

When red cows are crossed with white cow, the offspring have a mix of red hair and white hair. These cows are called roan. This is an example of:
complete dominance
incomplete dominance
codominance
polygenic inheritance
multiple alleles
16
Multiple Choice
The gene for human blood type has three alleles, A, B and O. This is an example of:
complete dominance
incomplete dominance
codominance
