When to use this tone in your speaking

✘ Wishes/ wants/ desires-

○Esperamos que cocines bien (We hope that you cook well)

✘ Emotions-

○Me alegro de que sonrías

✘ Impersonal Expressions (opinions)-

○Es necesario que Jaime lea este libro (it is necessary that he reads this book)

✘ Recommendations/ Requests-

○Mi doctor recomienda que beba más agua

✘ Doubt/denial-

○Dudo que él tenga mi numero.

✘ OJALA-

○¡Ojala que recuerde nuestro aniversario!

Present Subjunctive

For many subjunctive verbs, the stem of the verb will be the
same as regular infinitive stem.

Hablar

Comer

Vivir

For other verbs - in their indicative form- that had change of
spelling, stem-changing or irregular verbs, those changes will
also take place in the subjunctive.

Once you have the stem you add the ending.
