CAMERA POLICY

Teachers will send a private message then verbal warning if a student’s camera is
not on. Continued non-camera use will result in moving up the discipline ladder.

First offense: Teacher conferences with student and documents in IC.

Second offense: Teacher conferences with student, contacts LC and documents in
IC.

Third offense: Teacher conferences with student, contacts LC, sends over to
academic coach for support and documents in IC.

Fourth offense: Academic coach submits discipline referral to discipline AP

Please make sure to turn your camera on at the beginning of each class.

You can set it to private (only teacher sees) or public (everyone sees).

Vocabulary Words

.

Nitrogen Cycle
The process by which nitrogen is converted between its various chemical forms in the environment.
This cycle involves nitrogen fixation, nitrification, denitrification, and ammonification,
allowing nitrogen to move through the atmosphere, soil, and living organisms.
Nitrogen-Fixing Bacteria
Microorganisms that convert atmospheric nitrogen ((N_2)) into ammonia ((NH_3)),
making it accessible for plants. These bacteria play a crucial role in the nitrogen cycle by
enabling plants to use nitrogen from the atmosphere.
Nitrogen Fixation
The process of converting atmospheric nitrogen ((N_2)) into a form that plants can absorb
and utilize, primarily ammonia ((NH_3)). This process is essential for making nitrogen
available to living organisms.
Atmospheric Nitrogen
Nitrogen that is present in the atmosphere, mostly in the form of nitrogen gas ((N_2)). It makes
up about 78% of the Earth's atmosphere but is not directly usable by most living organisms until it undergoes nitrogen fixati
Denitrifying Bacteria
Microorganisms that convert nitrates ((NO_3^-)) back into atmospheric nitrogen ((N_2)), completing
the nitrogen cycle. These bacteria help to reduce excess nitrogen in the soil and release it back into the atmosphere.

10

media

Respiration: The biochemical process in which living organisms convert
oxygen and glucose into energy, carbon dioxide, and water, playing a
significant role in the carbon cycle.
Deforestation: The clearing or removal of forests, which reduces the
number of trees
that can absorb carbon dioxide, contributing to increased
atmospheric carbon levels.
Carbon Fixation: The process of converting inorganic carbon
(usually from carbon dioxide)
into organic compounds by living organisms, primarily during photosynthesis.
Metabolism: The set of life-sustaining chemical reactions in organisms
• that convert food into energy, involving processes such as respiration
and biosynthesis, impacting the carbon cycle.

11

media

Water cycle
Vocabulary

Condensation: The process by which water vapor in the air cools
and changes into liquid water, forming droplets.
Evaporation: The process by which liquid water is transformed
into water vapor, usually due to heat.
Hydrologic Cycle: The continuous movement of water on,
above, and below the surface of the Earth, which includes processes
like evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and runoff.
Precipitation: Any form of water, liquid or solid, that falls
from the atmosphere to the Earth's surface, such as rain, snow, sleet,
or hail.
Runoff: The flow of water that occurs when excess water
from rain, snowmelt, or irrigation travels over the land and returns to lakes,
rivers, and oceans.

Universal Solvent: A term used to describe water because
it is capable of dissolving more substances than any other
liquid, making it essential for various chemical reactions
and biological processes.
Transpiration: The process by which water is absorbed by
plant roots, moves through plants, and is released as water
vapor into the atmosphere from leaves and stems.

Introduction to the Water Cycle

I am pleased to offer a new HD motivational trailer choreographed to powerful music, introducing students to the amazing process of the Water Cycle on Earth. It is designed as a dramatic inspirational trailer to be shown by teachers in middle schools, high schools colleges as a visual Introduction to the physical process by which water circulates from our oceans to the land, and back again, thereby allowing life on land to exist. Students will love the music and drama and want to learn more about this complex and amazing subject.

Subscribe to my channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/sfgregs to see all of my exciting video trailers in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Astronomy, Physics and Math. I will be releasing new ones periodically.

The exciting music is an edited montage of clips from "Life Can be Beautiful" by David Edwards (Twelve Titans Music) and "Be Free", by Twelve Titan Music.

Please rate this video and leave a written comment. If you like it, please help me spread the word by posting links to it on your school and social media websites. The more students and teachers who can enjoy these dramatic educational videos, the better!

I wish to thank all the quality video and music producers whose postings enabled me to produce this video for free educational use.

To best enjoy this video, view on a big screen and turn up your speakers. The music is powerful and dramatic!

I can customize this video to add your name or school name at the end credits, for a very modest fee. If interested, email me at "fsgregs@comcast.net".
