​Division Answers: Mixed Numbers

• Sometimes we can't express our answer to a division problem with a remainder. When we can't, we will write the answer as a mixed number.

​Example:

• The fraction becomes: the remainder over the number we divided by!

​Improper -> Mixed Number

• We divide the numerator by the denominator:

​Improper Fractions

​Mixed Number -> Improper

• 1. Multiply whole number by the denominator.

• 2. Add the numerator.

• 3. keep the same Denominator!
