Bill:
A proposal for a new law
Veto:
To reject or stop a bill from becoming a law

The Executive Branch
The president leads the executive branch and the country. They sign and enforce laws passed by Congress. The vice president and the president's advisors, called the Cabinet, are also part of this branch.

The Legislative Branch
The legislative branch is made up of the House of Representatives and the Senate, forming Congress. This branch can limit the president’s power. Congress writes and votes on bills, which are sent to the president to become laws. If the president vetoes a bill, Congress can override the veto with a two-thirds majority vote.
