The aims of this lesson:

• To recognize common time expressions used with the present simple tense, such as "always," "usually," and "never."

• To identify the different forms of the present simple tense: affirmative, negative, and questions.

• To understand when to use the present simple tense, particularly for expressing habits, routines, and general truths.

Simple Present Tense

• Simple Present Tense is a verb tense with two main uses.

• We use simple present tense when an action is happening right now or when it happens regularly.

Simple Present Tense Expresses

​Permanent situation

Emily visits her grandmother every Sunday.

​General truth

The sun rises in the east.

Habitual action

He wakes up at 7 am every morning.

Future meaning

The restaurant opens at 10:00 am.

Tradition, ritual
