Martin Luther
Background
He was born and lived in Germany.
He was educated and attended school at fourteen. He graduated from the University of Erfurt, earning a Master of Arts degree.
He was a German theologian, professor, pastor, monk, and church reformer. Luther began the Protestant Reformation by publishing his Ninety-Five Theses on October 31, 1517. In this publication, he attacked the Church’s sale of indulgences.
