Etiquette
Etiquette is appropriate behavior in a specified setting.
Etiquette is different between a professional or formal setting vs. a casual or informal setting.
There is proper etiquette for all types of situations! Think about how you behave at a sporting event versus a fancy dinner. What do you wear, and what volume do you talk at?
8
Formal Versus Informal
Formal performances are more standardized.
dress such as ties or dresses
applause only between pieces of musica dedicated venue that is designed for a specific type of performance
focus on only the performance with nothing else going on
Informal performances are more relaxed.
casual wear
audience interaction
a venue that may not specifically be designed for artistic performances
other things going on around the performance like a picnic.

Word Cloud
Yes or No: Do you think your performance is formal or informal? Use the microphone or chat pod to tell me wy or why not? Should you take it seriously?
10
Backing Track
Backing track: a digital music track used in the background to support the main line of music. In this case, you are the keyboard soloist playing along with the backing track accompaniment.
Let's practice one more time using a backing track! Remember to have musescore open and the first measure highlighted.
Play along with me! On page 9 in edio!

Tips for a successful Performance:
1: Be prepared for your performance. Be sure that you have practiced and feel confident performing. If you feel you need more practice go back and review the lesson or ask your teacher for advice.
2. Take a deep breath! Take a moment before you begin to focus on your performance. Gather your thoughts, and think about everything you know. Don't be nervous!
3. Your teacher is here to help you and will not look down upon any mistakes you make. If you make a mistake, just keep going. Your teacher will understand your mistake and provide you with feedback to help you correct it in the future. Remember you can try your recording more than once!
