​the date itself is not just the normal number, you will have to add -te or -ste
This is called Ordnungszahlen

You do NOT need "of" in the German sentence.

Numbers 1-19: add -te to the number

Example:
2nd=zweite
4th= vierte
5th= fünfte
6th=sechste
14th=vierzehnte
19th=neunzehnte

Date: Ordnungszahlen 1-19

Be careful with these:

1st: erste
3rd: dritte
7th: siebte

Numbers 20-99: add -ste to the number

Example:
20th = zwanzigste
25th = fünfundzwanzigste
30th = dreißigste
42th = zweiundvierzigste
66th = sechsundsechzigste
