A bibliography is a list of information used in writing. Typically, a bibliography includes information such as:

  • name of author;

  • name of book or website; and

  • date of publication.

Think about a bibliography as a list of sources where the author found information to write their book.

5

The purpose of a bibliography is to document the sources used when writing a book. Having a bibliography is important to avoid plagiarism, or copying someone else's work without giving them credit.
