Project 4: Past Simple vs. Past Continuous

Use:

• něco co se zkrátka stalo

  I went to the cinema.

• výčet toho co se stalo

  I vacuumed the floor, dusted the furniture and took out the rubbish.
  

I went to the cinema yesterday.

Past Simple

Use:

• něco se dělo v konkrétní čas
  At 9.00 pm I was having breakfast.

• něco co trvalo/probíhalo delší dobu
  I was reading a book the whole afternoon.

I was reading a book the whole afternoon.
