  1. A verb phrase is a collection of verbs that go together.

    1. I am walking. ("am walking" is the verb phrase.)

    2. Much of the time, "ing" words aren't verbs at all.

    3. Walking to school is fun. (In this sentence, "walking" is actually a noun).

2. A note: "ING" words are NEVER VERBS BY THEMSELVES.
