CAMERA POLICY
Teachers will send a private message then verbal warning if a student’s camera is not on.
Continued non-camera use will result in moving up the discipline ladder.
First offense: Teacher conferences with student and documents in IC.
Second offense: Teacher conferences with student, contacts LC and documents in IC.
Third offense: Teacher conferences with student, contacts LC, sends over to academic
coach for support and documents in IC.
Fourth offense: Academic coach submits discipline referral to discipline AP
Please make sure to turn your camera on at the beginning of each class.
You can set it to private (only teacher sees) or public (everyone sees).

human impact on
natural resources.
b. Design, evaluate, and refine
solutions to reduce human impact on
the environment including,
but not limited to, smog, ozone
depletion, urbanization, and ocean
acidification.
I can explain ways humans could
reduce their impact on air quality.
I can describe ways humans can
help reduce the causes and
consequences of global warming.

growth/waste and water pollution
2. picture of it in a real world event

Save the world: waste
accumulation
● How people are saving the
world with this problem

Ins“I’m a plant pathologist,”
says Nelson. “But it has really
come home to me that plant
health requires soil health.
That led me to a focus on a
circular economy for organic
nutrients, including nutrients
from food waste, before and
after human consumption.”

farming
●Solution: Vertical farming is a
method of growing crops in
stacked layers, typically indoors,
instead of on a single surface. It
uses artificial growing systems,
such as hydroponics,
aquaponics, and aeroponics, to
optimize plant growth.

Water reduction and garbage clean-up
Solution: the practice of
reducing or eliminating
waste before it's
created. It can involve
changing how products are
manufactured, or how
consumers buy, use, and
reuse products
21
Safer forms of energy
●Alternative energy sources-carbon
neutral energy. Carbon neutral energy
sources are those that produce minimal
to no net carbon emissions when
generating energy, including solar, wind,
geothermal, hydroelectric power, nuclear
power, and certain forms of biomass
energy (when managed sustainably) as
they rely on naturally replenished
resources and do not directly contribute
to greenhouse gas emissions.

What can we do?
● Limit the amount of pollutants that make it into the air
○Scrubbers - used to remove pollutants from industrial exhaust
○Catalytic Converters - filters out harmful byproducts in vehicle exhaust
● Pass laws to lower air pollution
○Clean Air Act
○Environmental Protection Agency
● Using less fossil fuels or products that cause air pollution

your car is
working
properly.
Cutting
funding to
agencies
like the
EPA.

The activity is clear as mud: Think about pollution and between the three types of ecosystem pollution. What is the clearest to understand and muddiest part?
Example I understand population as growth or shrink of it determines energy consumed and waste produced. It is thick as mud for carbon's role whether it is waste or nutrition.
