Children aren’t the only ones in the family who can be busy. Many
grownups work full time, on top of doing the housework, childcare,
and more. In one study, 31 percent of parents said they feel rushed
at all times. As a result, family time can be rare and precious. We
should make the most of it. Wouldn’t it be better to spend these
moments enjoying one another’s company than arguing about
folding clothes? I would suggest closing the bedroom door and
walking away. Then, as a family, play a game, take a hike, or watch
a movie. Don’t pass up a chance to have a good time with the most
important people in your life. The mess can wait.

Some people say that having children clean their rooms teaches
them important skills. These include such things as picking up after
oneself and keeping things in order. These are certainly worthwhile
lessons that will serve children well as they grow older. But they
can be learned in other ways. For example, children can learn to
mop up their own messes.

The people of Massachusetts were very angry about these new laws. How could they make a living if goods could not be shipped in or out of Boston? Read this part of the text. Page 22.

Some colonists began to think a war was unavoidable. They thought it was time to start stockpiling muskets and gunpowder. Others believed that it was not too late to patch up relations with the king and his government.
Representatives from Virginia debated this issue in March 1775. Several representatives argued that Virginia should do whatever it could to keep the peace and restore good relations with the king. But others felt that it was too late for that. A country lawyer named Patrick Henry proposed that it was time to stop talking about peace and to start fighting for liberty.
