Notes for Monday Oct. 28!
Please Glue in your notes to the according pages. After you have done that please follow the notes that I have left you! I only did two examples with you so if you need to reference back to those for your group or independent practice you may do so! Once I am back we will finish the problems together!

Solve for Slope (m)
use ordered pair to substitute with (x) and (y)
Solve for y-intercept (b)
y-intercept
4
Now that you solved for slope you will put it back into your formula and use one of the ordered pairs to solve for b.
slope= 1/3
y=1/3x+b
In this case we will use the point (3,4) where my x=3 and y=4
so substitute the x and the y with the ordered pairs in the slope intercept formula.
y=1/3x+b
4=1/3(3)+b
Plug the formula in your CALCULATOR
y=
y1=4
y2=(1/3)(3)+x
2nd, Trace, 5, Enter, Enter, Enter
(if you cannot see both lines crossing ZOOM, 3, Enter until you are able to see lines cross.
(x=3) y-intercept =3
Now that you have both your slope and y intercept you can now plug those numbers in your formula and create an equation.
EQUATION= y= 1/3x+3

Now that you solved for slope you will put it back into your formula and use one of the ordered pairs to solve for b.
SLOPE (m): 55/2
y=55/2x+b
In this case we will use the point (4,110) where my x=4 and y=110
so substitute the x and the y with the ordered pairs in the slope intercept formula.
y=55/2x+b
110=55/2(4)+b
Plug the formula in your CALCULATOR
y=
y1=110
y2=(55/2)(4)+x
2nd, Trace, 5, Enter, Enter, Enter
(if you cannot see both lines crossing ZOOM, 3, Enter until you are able to see lines cross)
x=0 Y-Intercept (b): (0,0)
Now that you have both your slope and y intercept you can now plug those numbers in your formula and create an equation.
EQUATION: y= 55/2x
