This period, from 1556 to 1707, marked a time of great wealth and glory for the empire. The Mughals were known for being skilled administrators who set up a strong, centralized (single-center controlled) organization to govern the vast empire. Leadership and Legacy of the Mughals

The Mughals were not only brave warriors but also good administrators. They built a huge empire and left a political legacy (inheritance) that remains significant even today. Mughal rulers were also very interested in documenting their reigns, which means they kept records of their rule. Notable examples include Baburnama, written by Babur, and Jahangirnama, written by Jahangir. These autobiographies give us valuable insights into their lives and the empire they governed.

The Mughal Empire, also known as the Mogul Empire, stretched across South Asia. It spanned from the Indus basin in the west, northern Afghanistan, and Kashmir in the north, to Assam and Bangladesh in the east, and the Deccan plateau in the south.
