Energy Transfer Vocab!

Producer- an organism that produces its own food.

consumer– an organism in a food chain that obtains nutrients from producers or other consumers.

decomposer– an organism that gets energy by feeding on dead materials or wastes.

plants- living things that use the Sun’s energy to make their own food.

predator– an animal that hunts, catches, and eats another animal.

prey– an animal that is hunted, caught, and eaten by another animal.
